Tamara García focuses on creative processes and on multi-disciplinary experimenting, working from the everyday, the domestic and what is learned from cultural, social and political relations. Her projects are not only aimed at artistic centres, but she also includes the public sphere.
El cuerpo de la artista and Jugando con Tamara [The Artist’s Body / Playing with Tamara] are part of the Hasta la cocina [To the Kitchen] project she began to work on in 2008. It is a performative video-action, which is focused on domestic audiovisual experimenting and the importance of women in art. It starts by experimenting with the body and the body, consisting of a series of household actions performed by different artists. Her goal is to use different artistic disciplines to depict the behaviours that classify us. El cuerpo de la artista is a 40-second video featuring Shakti Olaizola; and Jugando con Tamara is a 30-second video featuring Saioa Olmo and Tamara García.
