In January 2020, the artist began to translate and re-write his Master’s thesis; the process would lead to his first book: ‘Com conquerir l’espai’ (‘How to Conquer Space’). During his residency at the BilbaoArte Foundation, he considered if there was a way to transform the words that he had written into something physical. During that search, he realised that when he wrote, he was constantly trying to make the words flow, to create a text with rhythm.
He wanted to find an element to represent those characteristics and he found a possible answer in marbles. He therefore used them to write the words of his book, which opened up the possibility of playing with them; letting them fall, roll, collide, escape and be rearranged. His installation was made up of the words of the first page of his thesis in English (its original language), and opposite them the last page of the book (translated into Catalan): the outcome of the re-writing process to which this piece invites and alludes. The first and last sentence of this piece became part of the BilbaoArte Foundation Collection in 2020.
