Ite deu is an installation and an approach to the practice of drawing out desire. It explores the aesthetic and performance possibilities of emotion-driven escalation. It is based on notions including grasping, holding and supporting to understand the gesture as an utterance that activates and extends the emotion.
The gesture, taken as potentiality of desire and as a vehicle towards an otherness, an ‘outside’ of the body that allows an increasingly stronger and non-pliable link. In turn, the gesture is also conceived as an object, a position, a bodily impulse and a possibility of the language: taking it from its own territory and to another space.
‘I try to answer the question about what I can achieve beyond what it is not. And, in the same way, I refer the emotional gesture to an absence, to grasp an exhausted desire, and the creation of objects of desire that point to multiple directions and extensions.’
