‘Izaskun, the enigmatic, the saddest eyes of Lamiako’
The Remapping Lamiako project sought to map the Lamiako neighbourhood, using the women as the central narrative. It aimed to use the human context of Lamiako as work material, based on these women and on the place they live. It creates a common construct, a set of identities that, in turn, form a narrative, starting from the uniqueness of each woman. It is a series of photographs of women taken outdoors and in photography studios. In the case of Izaskun contra Alicia [Izaskun Against Alicia], the photograph was taken in a studio; it is therefore completely out of context and is focused from its own fiction beyond its social aspect.
