The work focuses on the story of the horseshoe crab, a living fossil whose blood is harvested by modern medicine to detect infections. Every injection, vaccine, intravenous drip, and implanted medical device relies on this ancient biology, which has not evolved over the past 400,000 years.
The exhibition uses a clinical display of raw materials stripped of life and color to mourn the slow decline of these majestic animals and the invasive actions we inflict upon them.
