Mateo 7 [Matthew 7] is a video-installation that is one and a half minute in length and screened on a glass table. The video narrates Chapter 7 of the Gospel according to St. Matthew, which deals with judging others.
The work is part of the Miedo: la colisión realidad-ficción [Fear: Where Reality Collides with Fiction] project, produced by the artist Sophia Grandio at BilbaoArte in 2014. The project is based on experimenting with fictitious and social uses of fear through the subconscious. It refers to the ability of human beings to invent situations for its own benefits, in order to understand the relationship between emotions and languages to, subsequently, depict them by means of a multimedia installation.
