No habrá lugar allí para ninguno [There Will Be No Place There for Anyone] is a project that Abel Jaramillo produced in 2016; it starts from a verse of Querrán ponerle nombre [They Will Want to Call It], the poem by the poet and author Dulce Chacón. The artist explores the constructs of history and the relationship between tales, territories, margins and peripheries, by means of mixed processes (video, installation, sculpture, text and photography). Abel analyses history, constructing discourses from narratives and exploring the relationship between the subject and space.
His work is based on the search for different socio-political undertakings and focusing on the everyday through different chapters. He creates an archive of the constructs of the history of Extremadura, calling for the overlooked areas of the region to be addressed. He conducts a critical review of the image of Extremadura to connect different events and images that have constructed the tale of the Extremaduran identity.
