No somos ni de aquí ni de allí [We are Neither from Here nor From There] is the phrase spoken by a woman with whom the artist embarks on a bus journey from Bilbao to the town of Monterrubio de la Serena, in the province of Badajoz, on August 3, 2015. The artist documents this pilgrimage through one hundred and fifty analog photographs, which are compiled into a photo album.

This work is part of a larger project. Under the title Sangre Nueva (“New Blood”), the ongoing documentary project is a tribute to all the Extremaduran emigrants who, in the middle of the last century, left their villages in search of better development and prosperity in their lives, ultimately settling in many other towns and cities in the Basque Country, becoming part of its human landscape.
