The QUIERO mi montaña Project deals with the “construction of contemporary landscape”. It is the creation of landscape with autobiographical references, loyal to the cartography and location of the place. The place: the Pyrenees, specifically the Atlantic Pyrenees and the Upper Pyrenees. Based on fragments taken from the text entitled [`Introducción: sobre el paisaje y su construcción´] by Javier Maderuelo, the artist represents the construction of the idea of “mountain” and the idea of “landscape” from a multidisciplinary point of view, using silk-screen printing as a means of chain reproduction, photography as a medium for transferring part of the landscape and as we can see in this work, the sculpture as a medium for the three-dimensional construction of the landscape. Therefore, using different viewpoints give a multi-disciplinary feel to the expression of the same idea or concept.
Amaia Gracia Azqueta works from sculpture, using drawing and photographic imagery. Her projects stem from the autobiographical, addressing universal issues from both political and personal perspectives. The procedural aspect and the choice of materials stand out in her way of working. She has worked on themes such as the mountain, territory, identity, and affect.
