Alberto Albor’s paintings depict an artificial and alternative reality, but not as such released from our culturally common codes and experiences. Any experience of the everyday can be a stimulus to start to intuitively create his work, drawing on literary or film production, and the great archive that is the collective memory. His work is therefore introspective: the association of the items that we find in his work are a narrative related to his personal experiences. It is precisely thanks to the intimacy of this creation process that his canvases managed to connect with the viewer and trigger an endless number of associations.
His way of approaching composition, as still-lifes with items that are usually repeated, such as windows, walls and tables, is one of the constant aspects in his painting. Albor considers each canvas to be a new chapter of the place of the artifice where his collection of references is the starting point to produce fables that contain some half-truths and plots against an invisible enemy…
