Kepa Garraza’s work focuses on questioning the nature of the images we consume on a daily basis. He uses different visual techniques – photography, painting, drawing, digital tools – to build his pieces with a strong conceptual charge. His compositions depict theatrical performances in which criticism and irony predominate.
In Sin Título 5 [Untitled 5], he constructs a reality that seems designed to question the everyday and the intimate, through which he invites the viewer to delve into what they see at first glance and draw their own conclusions. What seems to capture a formal dinner is perceived altered by the mise-en-scène itself: the gestures, postures and the arrangement of the elements on the table reveal tensions that act as a critical mirror for the viewer. Photography functions as a critical device that causes us to reflect on our future and its possibilities, and questions social and institutional narrative.
