Marianne Wasowska approached this work from photography, based on her dream diary. Her main aim was to photograph a mental image such as dreams, that encompass levels beyond reason and consciousness, projecting images that we cannot control, and that – as they are not a real world – are enhanced.
She produced a series of pints in light-reactive fluorescent ink on cotton paper. They are hung in a space in front of a light that is lit every so often, absorbing and showing that hidden drawing. Light is used as a metaphorical and technical tool.
This work alters its form in front of the viewer and brings photography to installation. This is all achieved by embarking on a direct relationship between dreaming and our visual relationship. Marianne depicts her own dreams in the subject matter, directing the work to question the perceptions of the individuals.
