Iñigo Tena’s style – possibly inspired by Walker Evans, Lee Friedlander and Robert Adams – seems to seek lights focused on infinity; collimation, lines and shapes that interrelate in an urban context where the human presence is not perceptible.
Particularly striking is the focus on marginality, on the peripheral, on the anti-show, on the everyday and on the authentic. It is something essentially descriptive, not only of the environment itself as a mere illustration, but also with the connotation of an emotional state. The negative space and the fragility, the precariousness of a blanket of snow opens the way here for melancholic introspection.
