Iñigo Tena’s style – possibly inspired by Walker Evans, Lee Friedlander and Robert Adams – seems to seek lights focused on infinity; collimation, lines and shapes that interrelate in an urban context where the human presence is not perceptible.
In The Thin Path of Spirituality, we find the same focus that US documentary makers place on marginality, on the peripheral, on the anti-show, on the everyday and on the authentic. It is something essentially descriptive, not only of the environment itself as a mere illustration, but also with the connotation of an emotional state. The negative space and the fragility, the precariousness of a blanket of snow opens the way here for melancholic introspection.
