A Sun Effect. LEIRE LACUNZA
A Sun Effect is a performance, which evokes a bright landscape indoors. Leire explores the physical effect of light, the glare as a means of momentary blindness; light and shade as conditions that make the image possible.
The title comes from the following words by Nick Land: “life, any terrestrial process, is still only a momentary stoppage of the solar flow”. If the destiny of solar energy is total waste, death is its only end and life, the resistance to that waste. Throughout the history of art, we find different expressions of this resistance that, like a collection, seek to overcome the transience of the matter.
