He develops a practice in relation to writing, graphics, audiovisuals, conversation and performance. All of this unfolds in a never straight, direct or evident line between desire and experience, the lived and the to be lived, taking as a starting point the idea that desire always precedes the power to imagine, and orients and determines the fluctuating spectrum of the imaginary and the imaginative. He has called this way of investigating, plotting, writing and drawing “mariposeo” (butterflying). Butterflying consists in making the very wandering of the detour a dialectical form of orientation: it is a game between getting lost and finding oneself again. An unfolding, a coming to life of images, signs and their processual repercussions.
His stay at BilbaoArte contemplates the production of Un sentimiento popular, a 16 mm color film, with diegetic sound, and without music: with images composed of faces in close-up or medium-short shot, a series: friends, family members, neighbors, people from the neighborhood, but also any new eventuality, that nice guy you meet the previous weekend at a party, the unexpected. The purpose is the transcreation of a poem he writes in October 2022, entitled Las Eras. The resulting film is not about putting the words of the poem in images, but to make, from the same structure, another poem. And so to transcreate.
