Itinerancias Fílmicas stems from a partnership between three independent festivals — LAN Festival de Cine de Temática Obrera (the LAN Workers’ Film Festival) (Bilbao), the PICKNIC Film Festival (Santander) and the LOCO Logroño Cortometrajes (LOCO Short Film Festival) (Logroño) — with a shared aim: to build networks, share perspectives and encourage the circulation of films and audiences beyond the usual venues of each festival..
Following its stop in Santander, LAN will welcome PICKNIC and LOCO to BilbaoArte on 25 September (8:00pm) for a special screening featuring a selection of short films from both festivals.
The initiative is structured as an exchange: each festival acts as host and invites the other two to present a selection of their films. In this way, the films travel, the festivals come together, and each region opens up to new voices and ways of understanding cinema.
From the PICKNIC Film Festival, which has been running since 2015, come Un bagage en trop, a story about loneliness, motherhood and bonds, and Restare, which explores the farewell between two people as Sara leaves her small village.
LOCO, which is holding its first edition in 2026, presents five short films that explore different regions and sensibilities: La mujer de mi vida, Con los del banco, Cafuné, Todas aquellas cosas and Hasta que Dios quiera. The selection brings together stories about desire, friendship, childhood, emotional relationships and historical memory, amongst other perspectives on our present.
In short, Itinerancias Fílmicas proposes that cinema should circulate, and that partnerships should do the same. It is an invitation to discover other programmes, connect regions and share the common space that festivals create around the short film.

During the Spanish Civil War and much of the Second World War, Logroño became a centre of operations for the Nazi and Fascist armies. Matilde, the daughter of a missing Republican, earns a living by taking on various commissions, including mending military uniforms. But the increasingly frequent visits from military personnel lead her to suspect that it is not just her skills as a seamstress that are arousing their interest.

Itinerancias Fílmicas (Film Tours)
This is a collaborative project that brings together three national film festivals: the LAN Festival de Cine de Temática Obrera (LAN Workers’ Film Festival) (Bilbao), LOCO (Logroño) and the Picknic Film Festival (Santander). This initiative stems from a shared passion for cinema and the need to create spaces for encounter and dialogue where audiences can discover and reflect on diverse themes, styles and narratives.
The project is defined as a film showcase that aims to highlight and share audiovisual works that represent the values, interests and artistic visions of each of the participating festivals. Each of these festivals brings a unique and complementary perspective to the whole.
LAN Festival de Cine de Temática Obrera (LAN Workers’ Film Festival) (Bilbao):In 2026, LAN celebrates its tenth anniversary, having established itself as a leading forum for audiovisual reflection on work, memory and social rights. To mark this anniversary, an expanded programme has been devised in partnership with other festivals across the country that share a critical and transformative perspective on cinema as a social tool.
LOCO Logroño Cortometrajes 1.0 (Logroño):Led by cultural activist Laura Lucas, LOCO has been launched as a showcase for short films from Logroño. Its aim is to create a platform for promoting short films shot in Logroño or made by filmmakers from the capital of La Rioja.
Picknic Film Festival (Santander): With a focus on more independent and experimental cinema, this festival stands out for exploring the boundaries of audiovisual storytelling, showcasing works that challenge conventions and offer fresh and innovative perspectives on the language of film.
