Ion Macareno’s work starts from the very materials, from the interplay of trial and error with the forms in the studio, and from reflecting on the forms that exist a priori in our everyday life. The artist uses these ‘given forms’ as reference points to rethink the subject matter and the way in which we also experience it in relation to the space. His work – which is mainly sculpture – includes 3D animation technology, which allows him to transform the traditional concept of sculpture and proposes an expansion of its limits and language.
