Conference by David Hornback at BilbaoArte on his work and experience as an artist-in-residence in Venice at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation. March 27 at 7:00 p.m.
Venecia no nos ve (Venice Doesn’t See Us) was his artistic proposal, inviting us to look beyond the fleeting presence of tourists in Venice and perceive the city from its own millennial time scale. In a world that tends to focus on presence and instantaneous recording, this project sought to capture the perpetual and silent essence of Venice, showing a city that lives and sustains itself beyond our brief stay as tourists.
All this through pinhole photography, a historical and simple method that uses cameras made with dark boxes and a small hole to capture long exposures.
David Hornback will talk about his working method, his technique, and his experiences, and will share with the audience the results of his nearly four-month residency on March 27, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Art House Zinema in BilbaoArte.
